Bumper found himself in a busy Lowe's department store parking lot, and he did not escape from the asphalt without injury. Fortunately for him an animal lover wearing a Lowe's apron, an employee walking to the store to begin her shift, saw the accident. Bundle was once a neglected Easter bunny gift, who survived the season—barely.
 

Bundle of Joy

This little Bundle was first the victim of the pet industry, where he was bred to be sold at a pet store. Then the unfortunate bunny was purchased as an Easter gift for a young child, who soon grew tired of him. He was relinquished to an animal shelter unable to care for rabbits, and his fate almost became a horrific statistic, one of 90% of Easter bunnies euthanized within the year. Rescuing Questions: How a Rabbit Is Saved

Untold numbers of domestic rabbits are abandoned each year, and rescuing them can be a tricky endeavor.  Humane traps can be used, but they are not always successful.  A better method is to have a small group of people surround a rabbit and corral him, speaking in quiet, soothing tones. Rescuers should be prepared with pens or small cages to put captured rabbits in, as they will likely be difficult to hold.  The story of one recent addition to the Rabbit Sanctuary -- Questions, whose name reflects her uncertain past -- illustrates the kindness of strangers who take the trouble to rescue abandoned bunnies. Read More >>
