Eight Horses Spared by Compassion and Cooperation

Eight lucky horses who had first been rescued from public lands, then cared for by the Return to Freedom rescue group, now find a permanent home at the Cleveland Amory Black Beauty Ranch. Four of the horses had once been wild, whose ancestors had been running free for two generations on Lompoc Ranch in Southern California. The other four horses came from other lands and other rescue groups. They are united in Texas where they join the herd and test out new grazing grounds -- for good. Read More >>

Caretaker's Death Leave Bebu and Kemu, the Emus, Running Solo

In an unfortunate circumstance, two emus and other animals were abandoned on a farm after the death of their caretaker. The animals had no access to food or water for two months, until finally a local animal rescue group stepped into help. After a rescue and immediate attention by the Houston SPCA, the emus were finally welcomed to their permanent home at the Cleveland Amory Black Beauty Ranch. Read More >>

Bobcat Bounty: Larger Habitat for Wild Cats

Little Boy, Bob, and General are bobcats, too familiar with humans to survive in the wild. But that doesn't mean their enclosure at the Cleveland Amory Black Beauty Ranch in Murchison, Texas can't resemble their natural habitat. Thanks to the kind generosity of Pamela Vincent, these three cats now enjoy space four-times the size of what they were used to, space to spread out and appear hidden, as they might do in the wild. Read More >>
