Welcoming New Arrivals |
The Cleveland Amory Black Beauty Ranch continues to welcome new animals, each with their own unique story of survival. Sometimes a detailed background on an animal is known; other times, there is little or no information about his or her life up until the time of arrival.
Some animals have been rescued from a slaughterhouse or animal auction, some from entertainment venues such as circuses, and some from federal or state lands where they were deemed nuisances. In the case of some of the wild animals, they were once pets whose owners realized they could not meet the spatial, nutritional and psychological needs of the animal and sought a better home for them.
Those whose histories we do not know also have a distinct past; though we will never know their stories, all animals enjoy an equal place here at the ranch, where they are free to live out their natural lives in safety.
